 Year 6 SAT’s

This week the children in Year 6 sit their SAT tests. For those children in Year 6 we are sending a copy of the test timetable with this newsletter. It is a very important week for them – and a hard one! They have at least one test each day. Please make sure you are at school and on time. If there is a problem or your child is not well it is vital that you let the school office know as soon as possible.

I am sure they will all do their best and we wish them all good luck!

Year 5 information

The Local Authority needs to collect information about the children in Year 5. This is in order to prepare letters and information about their move to secondary school. If your son/daughter is in Year 5 please complete the form enclosed with the newsletter and return it to school as soon as possible.

Junior Wardens

There is a letter and application form for children to join the ‘Junior Wardens Project’ during the summer attached to this newsletter. The letter from the Wardens gives information about the project – its aims and some of the activities. It is aimed at children aged 8 to 13. If anyone wishes to apply, please complete the application form and return it to the school office before the half term holiday (Friday 23rd May).

School Link

We thought you would like to know that we received just over £80 in commission from the sale of books from ‘School Link’. We will again be using the money to buy books for the school.

Thank you to all those who helped get this money!

Upcoming events:

-         May 12th: YEAR 6 SAT WEEK

-         May 20th: FASHION SHOW

-         May 21st: Sponsored ‘hockey shoot-out’

-         May 23rd: PHOTOGRAPH DAY

Tips for helping your child to make good progress and do well in school:

Praise your child for their successes and for their effort – this doesn’t need to be expensive! Sometimes just saying ‘Well done!’, ‘You’ve tried really hard!’ or, ‘I’m really proud of you!’ can mean a lot more to a child.

As you know, we have been promoting the ‘Once a week - take a peek’ campaign to try and reduce the headlice problem.  I have now been contacted by a local pharmacy who are offering FREE medication to help get rid of headlice if you find any. They will even deliver it for free as well!

If you wish to take advantage of this offer you will need to:

  1. Phone the pharmacy and give them the names and NHS numbers of those requiring the medication.

  2. Give your address if you wish to have the medication delivered, and agree a suitable time for delivery.

  3. Sign for the delivery when it arrives!

Their details are:

Hull Late Night Pharmacy,

124 to 127 Witham.
